Sunday entertainment could mean anything in Bangalore-beer brunch, multiplex movie or a drive out of the city. What about watching a strapping young man all chained up and crammed emerging out of 15 feet high fire in a matter of seconds. On Sunday, that was the unfamiliar rush which Akash gave a crowd of hundreds at the Palace Grounds.
Performing as part of Jadugar Anand’s new series of shows in Bangalore Akash- also son of Jadugar Anand – almost lived up to thw MC’s promise of a sensational, spectacular show.
A 25 feet chain and 25 locks were used to tie him up, before he was scooped up by a crane and dropped into a hay enclosure. Of course, the chains and locks were checked by the VIP guests including Small Scale Industries and Sericulture Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, journalists and a couple of eager onlookers. Soon, the enclosure was set to fire and as the audience, volunteers, media and fie service personnel waited for the performer’s exit, Akash smashed himself out through the hay, into the waiting blanket spread out by the crew. No chains attached. All it took was nearly 45 seconds.
It’s an extremely professional stunt, done with all the necessary precautions. Please don’t try doing it yourself,” said Akash, an MBA from Symbiosis Pune who skipped a career in marketing to join in legacy of adventure and magic.
Autograph seekers were swarming around him in hordes after the stunt. Looks like the decision is paying off.
